Platform and data control
Omniway is built around a clear principle: the customer should have full control over their data processing — without having to compromise on functionality.
A platform built for clarity
Omniway is built around a clear separation between the core platform and any add-ons or integrations. This architecture means the customer has full visibility into — and control over — what data processing takes place.
Omniway Core — a secure default
The core platform is designed to meet high requirements on data protection and GDPR compliance out of the box.
- All data is stored in Sweden via Advania in Umeå
- No third-country transfer in the standard configuration
- Meets high GDPR requirements without additional configuration
Functionality in the core platform
The core platform includes everything needed to run education operations digitally:
- LMS with course management and content builder
- Course administration and scheduling
- Communication tools for teachers and students
- Follow-up and reporting
- Management of study results and grades
Add-ons and integrations
Beyond the core platform, Omniway offers a number of add-ons and integrations that can be activated when needed. These may involve additional data processing.
- Plagiarism check via Turnitin — may involve third-country transfer
- Video and real-time communication via BBBserver.de — operated within the EU
Each add-on is clearly documented with respect to the data processing it involves.
A deliberate choice — never default
External services and integrations are never activated by default in Omniway. The customer actively decides which add-ons become part of their environment.
- No third-party services are activated without the customer's consent
- The customer makes an informed decision based on documented information
- Each add-on can be deactivated at any time
Transparency in data processing
Omniway actively pursues transparency around how data is processed in the platform.
- All integrations are documented with respect to data flows
- Sub-processors are openly disclosed
- The customer always has visibility into which services are active
